Registered in Shashi District, Jingzhou City, Hubei Province which sits itself at the middle stream of Yangtze River and under the administration of China Petrochemical Group Corporation (Sinopec.), Shahsi Steel Pipe Works (hereinafter referred to as SSPW) is one of the enterprise specialized in manufacturing of submerged arc welded pipe with the largest scale and the most advanced equipment in China. Established in the year of 1975, SSPW possesses three (3) advanced SAW pipe production lines, where two lines (one line at Jingzhou City and one line at Wuhan City) are for spiral welded pipe, and the third one (at Jingzhou City) is for longitudinal pipe. The annual output for both the spiral lines and the longitudinal line are 200,000 t. Two coating production lines capable of performing pipe external FBE , PE and PP coating and internal painting coating to reduce surface friction are set up in the pipe mill at Shahi District in the form of Sino-foreign joint cooperation.

SSPW enjoys good transportation conditions and electric power supply. In Shashi pipe mill, two exclusive railway lines having daily loading capacity of 40 railway cars and one company owned wharf in Yangtze River with a lifting capacity of 50t and an annual handling capacity of 600,000t are available. Inside the plant area, one 110KV power transformation station, one 110KV special line and one 35/110KV special stand-by line are equipped.

In recent years, SSPW has supplied large amount of top quality pipe for domestic key projects such as Tarim desert pipeline, Shaanxi-Beijing Pipeline, Yongyuning pipeline, Weld-East gas pipeline, Southwest finished oil pipeline, Branch line of West-East gas pipeline in east of Henan province, ZHuhai-Zhongshan natural gas pipeline for CNOOC and Yi-Chang pipeline. In addition, more than 80,000 tons of good quality pipe has ever been exported to Philippine, Sudan , Pakistan and Mauritaria.
