Sulfolane Extractive Distillation Technology (SED)
SED is an extractive distillation process using a complex solvent system which is composed of sulfolane (as main solvent) and a co-solvent. The process can be used to recover high purity benzene or benzene and toluene from hydrocarbon mixtures such as hydrogenated pyrolysis gasoline, reformate or coal tar oil.
