In this proprietary technology, SBS is synthesized via anionic batch solution polymerization from styrene and butadiene in the presence of organic lithium compound as initiator. SINOPEC has been devoting itself for many years to the research and development of lithium-initiated anionic polymerization, and has successfully developed its proprietary SSBR and LCBR industrial technology besides SBS.
