Hydrocracking Technology
SINOPEC has developed its proprietary hydrocracking technologies to process almost all kinds of inferior feedstocks including VGO, CGO, DAO and their mixtures. The products are high grade gasoline, diesel, jet fuels, lube oil and naphtha for chemical and ethylene producing. The hydrocracking technology includes high-pressure process ( PH2: 10-18MPa) and medium-pressure process (PH2: 8-10MPa). Both processes have patented catalysts.
A. High pressure hydrocracking technology
(1) Single-stage Hydrocracking Technology (SHC)
The Single-stage Hydrocracking technology (SHC) adopts a single reactor in which single hydrocracking catalyst or combined hydrocracking catalysts is (are) loaded. The feedstocks react with H2 in the reactor and hydrocracking reactions take place, such as sulfur and nitrogen removing and aromatics saturation, etc. and various target products can be obtained.

(2) Single-Stage, Double-Catalysts Hydrocracking Technology for Producing More Middle Distillates (FDC)
The FDC maximum producing middle distillates technology is a newly developed technology, on the basis of Single-stage in Series Hydrocracking Technology and developed for maximum producing clean diesel oil. The technology adopts a single reactor in which hydrotreating and hydrocracking catalysts are loaded and optimizes the graded ratio as well as reaction temperature. The balance of main target product quality and catalyst cost has been approached.
(3) Single-stage in Series Hydrocracking Technology (FMD1 )
The FMD1 adopts single-stage in series hydrocracking process and two reactors of hydrotreating and hdyrocracking. The technology can be applied to convert heavy gas oil into more superior middle distillates as well as certain amount of excellent naphtha and/or hydrocracking unconverted oil (UCO).

(4) Two-stage Hydrocracking Technology for maximum production of middle distillates (FMD2)
The FMD2 adopts two-stage hydrocracking and two-stage process diagram. The technology can be applied to producing superior middle distillates as well as certain amount of excellent naphtha.
(5) Hydrocracking Technology for Maximum Production of Catalytic Reforming Feed (FMN)
The FMN technology developed for maximum production of catalytic reforming feed is mainly used to treat VGO. The main target products are superior high aromatics potential amount catalytic reforming feedstock as well as certain amount of high octane number gasoline blends.
The FMC1 technology takes single-stage in series and once-through hydrocracking process for maximum production of chemical feedstock as well as some of superior middle distillates.
(7) Two-stage Hydrocracking Technology for Producing More Chemical feeds (FMC2)
The FMC2 technology takes two-stage hydrocracking process for maximum production of chemical feedstock. The fresh feed is treated in the first stage. The converted middle distillates are cracked further in the second stage for maximum production of high quality chemical feed.
(8) Hydrocracking Technology for Flexibly Producing Middle-Distillates and Petrochemical Materials (FHC)
The FHC technology takes single-stage in series hydrocracking process for maximum production of chemical feedstock.. This technology consists of once-through, unconverted oil fully recycled or partially recycled modes.

The RMC technology can convert heavy gas oil into light and good quality distillates under  circumstance of hydrogen. The target products are good quality naphtha, diesel, and unconverted oil. The VGO is sent into the first reactor after heated and HDS, HDN, aromatic saturate reactions take place. The reactants from the first reactor then is sent into the second reactor for further HDS, HDN reactions as well as ring-open, aromatic saturate and isomeriztion reaction. The final reactants then are separated into hydrogen rich gas and liquid. The liquid product is further separated into different products.
