Pressindustria has granted Sinopec an exclusive and transferable licence of its butyl-halobutyl rubber technology, know-how and patents

An exclusive and transferable license contract of butyl-halobutyl rubber technology, know-how and patents had been signed and entered into effectiveness on Feb.28, 2006 between China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation?Sinopec Corp.?and Pressindustia.

Per the contract, Pressindustria grants Sinopec Corp. the exclusive and transferable licence of Pressindustria's patents and technology and know-how to build and operate any number of plants for the production of butyl/halobutyl rubber without any limit of capacity in any country of the world with the exception of the North America, South America and European Union (i.e. EU.'s effective members as of December 31st, 2005), and a non exclusive licence to manufacture in any country of the world and the exclusive licence to use and to sell in any country of the world with the exception of North America, South America and European Union (i.e. EU.'s effective members as of December 31st, 2005) any number of polymerization reactors under Pressindustria's proprietary design and technology, and the right to sell butyl-halobutyl rubber products of the plants throughout the world without territorial limits or restrictions.

With this contract, Sinopec Corp. can go further in developing the global market and maintaining its competitive advantages in the field of petrochemical industry in and/or out of China.
