Located in the flourishing Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical Co. Ltd. (YPC Ltd.) was established in April 1998 by issuing 350 million A shares to the public, solely sponsored by the former Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical Corporation, the state-owned super large enterprise (restructured into ??Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical Corporation ??(YPC Corp.) in Sept. 1998). YPC Ltd. shares were listed at Shenzhen Stock Exchange with a total stock capital of 2.33 billion shares. On Feb. 25, 2000, Sinopec Corp. was established and YPC Ltd. became her holding subsidiary.

YPC Ltd. inherited the superior assets for production, supply, sales, scientific research and development as well as broad market and operational features of ?? large scaled, advanced, systematic and integrated ?? from Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical Corporation. With 34 sets of production plants, centering around 650,000 t/y ethylene plant and 850,000 t/y aromatics plant, YPC Ltd. now can process 8 million t/y crude oil, produce 4 categories of product, i.e. polyolefin plastics, polyester material, basic organic chemical materials and finish oil with 38 varieties. The total commodity volume is more than 6 million tons. All the products can be widely used in fields of light industry, textile, electronics, foodstuff processing, automobile, aviation, modern agriculture and etc. with the annual turnover of more than 30 billion yuan RMB.
