SINOPEC Chemical Products Sales Company

As the largest chemical product trading company in China, Sinopec Chemical Sales Company(SCS) was founded on May 10, 2005,specializing in the overall resources planning for the enterprises under Sinopec, marketing, product promoting at home and abroad, as well as providing customer service and supplying and procurement of petrochemical feedstock produced by plants attached to Sinopec. On February 2, 2009, Sinopec Chemical Sales Co.£¬Ltd was incorporated. Working co-operatively with SCS, Sinopec Chemical Sales Co.£¬Ltd is responsible for the import, export, storage and distribution of the petrochemical products, fulfilling some responsibilities on the part of the investor of petrochemical product trading unit.

The main business scope of the company generally covers the whole petrochemical upstream and downstream industry chain with a wide range of products including synthetic resin, synthetic rubber, synthetic fiber, synthetic fiber polymers, raw materials for synthetic fiber, organic chemical raw materials and other intermediates and byproducts. Although affected by the global financial tsunami starting from the second half of year 2008, the total sales volume in 2008 reached 21.12 million tons with 7.58 million tons of synthetic resin, 880 thousand tons of synthetic rubber, 3.06 million tons of synthetic fiber raw material, 1.49 million tons of synthetic fiber polymer, 1.26 million tons of synthetic fiber, 6.85 million tons of basic organic chemicals and other intermediates and byproducts.

Since its foundation, SCS has been striving to improve its marketing network which focuses on direct sales with the combination of direct-sales and indirect distribution as a supplement. The company has established regional branches in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Wuhan, Which are respectively in charge of marketing and product promoting in the four areas. SCS Beijing Branch is responsible for marketing in provinces of Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang and autonomous regions of Ningxia, Xinjiang, Inner-Mongolia and municipalities of Beijing, Tianjin. SCS Shanghai Branch is responsible for marketing in provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi and municipality of Shanghai. SCS Guangzhou Branch is responsible for marketing in provinces of Guangdong, Hainan, Fujian, Yunnan, Huizhou and autonomous regions of Guangxi, Xizang. SCS Wuhan Branch is responsible for marketing in provinces of Hunan, Hubei, Henan, Sichuan and municipality of Chongqing.

To further improve the marketing network, SCS has opened sales outlets in some key market areas such as Tianjin, Linyi, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shaoxing, Chengdu, Changsha, Quanzhou, Maoming, Shantou and Fushan. It provides service and technology platform for market exploration, technical services, product storage and logistics. To improve the logistic system and provide better services to end users, the company has also established transit storage depots in some major consumer markets. These facilities shorten the time of delivering products to customers and enhanced the ability to transit and distribute products.

Since its inception, SCS has been working hard to perfect its services network, interpret the profound connotation of customer services and build a quick responding technical service system by making full use of the technology research and development force in manufacturing enterprises and research institute attached to Sinopec. Synthetic resin and synthetic rubber sectors in SCS have set up positions of technical service engineers and this practice will be introduced to other sectors gradually.   Moreover, the company is actively exploring the possibility of establishing new product application service system, market analysis service system and logistics service system. To meet customers’ rapidly increasing demand, the company is stepping up the construction of marketing teams and enhancing the quality of its servicing staff.

After 4 years construction, the company has built up a unified ERP business platform to provide technology support for staff in different Sinopec regional companies, manufacturing plants and representative offices. Furthermore, to provide better services and raise the efficiency in logistic system, the company has established Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and logistics information system (LIS). Both systems have been experiencing continuous improvement. The CRM can keep customers informed of the latest progress by visualizing the trading process, while the LIS makes the door-to-door logistic service possible by strengthening the management on the product logistics and distribution business. In addition, the Office Automation (OA) system and the in-house information website have provided an effective approach to the efficient operation of business processes and the seamless sharing of the company’s internal information, laying the groundwork for further improvement of the company’s business operational efficiency.

SCS is willing to establish long-term strategic partnership with counterparts at home and abroad and actively participate in international industry chain competition to achieve mutual progress and development.
