SINOPEC Zhongyuan Petrochemical Corp. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "ZPC"), a shareholding subsidiary company of China Petrochemical Corp. Ltd, is located in Puyang, Henan, which is the juncture of three provinces, Hebei, Shandong and Henan. It is one of the leader business that developing petrochemical industry in Henan.
ZPC is a "8.5" important development item that set up by the People's Government of Henan Province and the original China National Petroleum and Natural Gas Corporation with joint venture. The feasibility research paper was approved by The National Project Committee in November 1988. ZPC started to be constructed from July 1993, set up and put into production in July 1996, and passed the national conclude check in 1998. Then ZPC was set up by the People's Government of Henan Province and the original China National Petroleum and Natural Gas Corporation according to "corporate law" in June 1995. It was allotted into China Petrochemical Corporation by State Department while the two greatest Corporations, i.e., Petrochemical Corporation and Petroleum Corporation were reorganized in 1998. ZPC made up the deficits and got surpluses the first time in 2004, so it realized the strategic target of "made up the deficits in three years" one year ahead. It was purchased on January 1, 2005 and entered into China Petrochemical Corp. Ltd.
There are four sets of main plants in ZPC: ethylene plant、polyethylene plant、 polypropylene plant、C4 mixture comprehensive utilization, and communal supports、production assistant device, and logistic service systems. The four sets of main plants are completely imported from abroad, adopting advanced technique in world of 90th, 20 centuries. The ethylene plant's original design capacity is 140,000t/y and has reached 180,000t/y after the reform in 2000; polyethylene plant's original design capacity is 120,000t/y and has reached 200,000t/y; polypropylene plant's original design capacity is 40,000t/y and has reached 60,000t/y.
The feedstock of ZPC is light hydrocarbon and naphtha from oil field. They come from ZhongYuan oil field, LuoYang refinery and several other refineries of the petrochemical system. The main products are polyethylene, polypropylene and benzene, and there are several by-products such as charge fuel oil、C5、C9、MTBE、butylene-2, etc. As a unique corporation that produces ethylene in the midland of china, ZPC is placed in the hinterland of market, having the advantage of low cost of product conveyance. The market reaches to the east of China, mid-south, southwest, and northwest region. The polyethylene product has 102 brands and the polypropylene product has 49 brands. We have been exploiting and producing many brands successively, such as: polyethylene DFDC-7050、DMDA-8007、DFDC-7085、DFDC-9088、DFDC-9050、DFDC-9050K、DFDC-7042、DNDD-7152 and polypropylene T30S, Z30S, V30G, EPT30R brands. ZPC adopts advanced technique, so the products have stable performance and high quality. The polypropylene T30S won "national high-quality product" title in 1997 and comes in for good opinion from the customers.
ZPC has been managing according to the principle of "honesty and trustworthiness as roots, develop together, and win together", and insisting on the policy of "exist on high quality, contend for benefit with efficiency, shoot for markets with reputation, and promote sales with servings". Under the leadership of the China Petrochemical Corporation and the support of the government of Henan province and Puyang city, we are expediting the development step confirmedly on the path of connotation and striving to have a feature of refining. And then, we will adjust the product structure and strengthen the ability to exist independently and resist the market venture. We will work hard to offer more products of high quality to customers and contribute to the overall construction of middle-class society.
