SINOPEC Hubei Chemical Fertilizer Company (hereinafter referred to as “Hubei Chemical Fertilizer Company”)is located in the middle upstream of the Changjang River ,western part of Jianghan Plain, Zhijiang City, Hubei Province.It is adjacent to a famous city Yichang. With the Changjang River to the south , the Yichang-Huangshi expressway to the north, the Three Gorges International Air Port to the west and the ancient city Jingzhou to the east,it has a dedicated railway transport line which are linked by the railways throughout the country. Its products can be transported to the whole country by waterway, railway, highway and airway. The state western gas to east project i.e. “Zhong-Wu” natural gas pipe line is directly connected to the production site. There is a natural gas pipe line which is under construction will pass through the local place of the enterprise.It is predicted that it will be put into service in second half of year in 2009. The company is favorably endowed with good energy resources, transport and tourist surroundings.
Hubei Chemical Fertilizer Company is the only large-scale chemical fertilizer production enterprise in Hubei Province and it is also one of the largest fertilizer production enterprises in the southern part of China .Over the past 30 odd years it has accumulatively produced over 12 million tons of super urea .It has made a certain contribution to the agricultural production. Its fixed assets is of 2.87billion yuan. In 2005,it carried out the “naphtha to coal” revamping . At the end of December 2006,after over three years construction, the coal gasification unit was completed and put into production successfully. Up to now, the adjustment of the feed lines have been finished, it has greatly improved its capability for anti-risk and competition. Its utility facilities are perfect. It has three high pressure coal boilers with capacity of 700tons/ hour and two power station with capacity of 25MW. It can provide power for main production units. Its annual production capacity is 396,000 tons of synthesis ammonia and 560,000 tons of urea. Besides synthesis ammonia and urea, it has subsidiary products such as nitrogen,oxygen, argon and sulphur, etc.
Based on the spirit of“ stringent, realistic, union, civilization and enterprising”, Hubei Chemical Fertilizer Company has constructed a high jumping-off point of management mechanism. By pursuing the high product quality and high production efficiency, it has been honored 300 odd titles. It has the certification of ISO-9001 international quality system.
“Yangtse River Brand”urea has won the State Silver Prize for quality, “Famous brand products for Hubei Province”and the title of “Certification for 3A Quality Level”and “Product Quality Exemption From Inspection”which awarded by China Product Quality Association. The “Yangtse River Brand” compound fertilizer has been awarded a title of“Famous brand products for Hubei Province”for many years.Every environment target has been met requirements of SINOPEC.
The company now has brilliant development prospects. With the natural gas and coal gasification resource, it has the syngas making capacity for producing 800,000tons of synthesis ammonia annually. It provides the condition for the further expansion of the company. The completion of the coal gasification unit is established good bases especially for developing coal chemical products and product adjustment.
