SINOPEC Jingmen Company (hereinafter referred to as Jingmen Company ) is located in Jingmen, the central zone of Hubei province, China. It lies south to Jingzhou and by Yangtze River. To the north are Xiangfan and Hanjiang River. Wuhan, capital city of Hubei province locates in the east. To the west stands the Three Gorges, and it leads to Yunnan and Guizhou province. In possession of the geographical advantages, Jingmen is in a convenient transportation network both on land and waterway.

Jingmen Company is a petrochemical enterprise that consists of good assets from Jingmen Petrochemical Complex; it is the largest petrochemical enterprise in Hubei province and the largest production base of lube oil and petroleum wax in the Central-South China. The company lists in the Nationwide Top 500 Industrial Enterprises, and wins the First place among petroleum exploiting and extraction enterprises. Being a National Ten Powerful Enterprise, it also wins the title of Nationwide Optimum Credit Enterprise, Nationwide Optimum Industrial Enterprise, and Nationwide Optimum Image with Class AAA, etc..

Having developed for over 30 years, Jingmen Company has been enlarged and upgraded. From 1970 to 1975, it experienced construction and commissioning. It started to take on the task of crude oil processing and refining allocated by the state in 1975. It underwent renovation and reconstruction from 1976 to 1984, and, afterwards, the crude oil processing capacity rose from 2.5 million to 3.5 million metric tons a year. From 1985 to 1990, it had enhanced the comprehensive competitiveness relying on technology innovation, and had developed many new kinds of high quality lube oil. The processing capacity had reached 5.0 million metric tons a year and had achieved the goal of refining crude oil according to their different qualities. From 1991 to 1997, it had transformed management and marketing system to speed up development, and had built up the Honghu oil jetty and pipeline praised as life project with crude oil transfer capacity of 3.5 million metric tons a year. From 1998 to 2000,it had built up 70000 tons a year Polypropylene unit ,it had transitted as a comprehensive petrochemical enterprise. From 2000 to now, it entered speediness developmental stage after reorganization. Jingmen Company possesses 5.5 million metric tons a year crude oil processing capacity currently,it makes arduous efforts to reach the target of 6.0 million tons/year crude oil processing capacity . Jingmen company processed 4.25 million metric tons of crude oil in 2006.

Up to now, Jingmen Company has possessed 39 sets of oil refining and petrochemical facilities, including Atmospheric and Vacuum Distillation units, the Catalytic Cracking unit, the Deep Catalytic Cracking unit, the Catalytic Reforming unit, the Delayed Coking unit, the Fuel oil Hydrorefining unit, Hydrogen Manufacturing with dry gases, the Lube oil Hydro-upgrade unit, and the Solvent Dewaxing (for light and heavy feed) units, the Lube oil and Wax Hydrorefining, IsoSiv process-kerosine range unit and Deep Dearomatization units and Polypropylene unit etc. It is one of the leading enterprises equipped with comprehensive refining and processing methods and techniques.

Having been renovated and innovated technologically for many years, Jingmen Company has been in possession of technological advantages that go as follow:

(1) DCC-II Processing Technology: Deep Catalytic Cracking II(DCC-II) is the first set of industrial unit at home and abroad. It makes full use of heavy oil to produce olefins with lower carbon, providing raw materials of propylene for polypropylene unit.

(2) Advanced Polypropylene Technology: Jingmen Company imported Spheripol Polymerization in liquid phase from Italy. The technology is advantageous in many aspects, such as a large production capacity with many product grades, high quality and lower consumption of propylene as well as strong potential for downstream products.

(3) Improved MGD Technology: Improved MGD technology is used in the RFCC and DCC-II Units to produce clean fuel and adjust quickly the ratio of diesel to gasoline.

(4)  Fully-refined series of Paraffin Wax and Microwax Technology: The technology can reduce the oil content in wax to lower than 0.5%, and then the series of fully-refined wax are produced by hydro treating, dearomatizing and decolorizing .The exported waxes are exempted from the inspection authorized by the state. At the meantime, Jingmen Company has possessed the characteristic technique of producing micro wax that has a lower oil, sulphur content and nice color, and fits for rubber industry, cosmetics industry, and food industry.

(5) Lube Oil Hydro-upgrade Technology: 200kt/y Lube Oil Hydro-upgrade unit can be used to produce high grade HVI base oil which meet API¢ò standard. The ratio of Jingmen Company's high and middle grade lube oil is over 80%, which turns Jingmen Company into a high and middle grade base oil production base of SINOPEC.

(6) Lube Oil Denitrification Technology: The technology has tackled with the problem of high nitrogen content in lube oil in traditional and hydrotreating processing process, and has improved the lube lubricate quality and gained a high oxidation stability of base lube oil.

(7) The composite process for heavy oil processing.

(8) The production technology of white oil, Vaseline, rubber extender oil and special solvent oil.
