SINOPEC Anqing Company (hereinafter referred to as the “Anqing Company” or the “Company”) is located at the northwest suburb of Anqing city, Anhui Province and in the north bank of lower reaches of Changjiang River with an area of 7 square kilometers. The aerial transport, golden waterway of Changjiang River, main line of Beijing-Kowloon railway and highly developed express way network here have created a very convenient surface and aerial transport and provided Anqing Company with a favorable condition of development.
The precursor of Anqing Company is Anhui Refinery. On July 1, 1983, it was transferred to SINOPEC by central government and renamed as SINOPEC Anqing Petrochemical Works. In 1998, it was renamed as SINOPEC CORP. Anqing Company. For listing of SINOPEC CORP., it was restructured as SINOPEC Anqing Petrochemical Works (unlisted) and SINOPEC CORP. Anqing Company (listed) under the planning of SINOPEC on Feb. 28, 2000 and began to operate separately from April 1, 2000. On July 18, 2007, SINOPEC Anqing Petrochemical Works was system reformed as SINOPEC Assets Management Corporation Anqing Company.
At present, Anqing Company has the following major production plants and units: 5,500,000 t/y atmospheric & vacuum distillation unit, a 1,400,000 t/y FCCU, a 700,000 t/y DCCU, a 1,500,000 t/y delayed coking unit, a 1,600,000 t/y hydrofining unit, a 220,000 t/y catalytic reforming unit£¬a 30,000 t/y polypropylene unit, a 2,000 t/d coal processing unit, a Shell “Coal–for-Oil” unit with effective gas (CO + H2) of 142,000 m3/h, a 330,000 t/y synthetic ammonia plant, a 580,000 t/y urea plant, a 80,000 t/y acrylonitrile plant, and a 70,000 t/y acrylic fiber plant. It also possesses a 500,000 t/y fertilizer loading dock, a 200,000 t/y liquefied hydrocarbons dock, a 13-km-long in-plant specific railway line and an industrial marshalling yard. Major products of Anqing Company include the "Double Ring" Brand fertilizer, the "Double Bell" Brand chemical product series, and the "Huangshan" Brand acrylic fibers. There are more than 40 types of top quality product, and 15 of which won provincial or ministerial top quality titles. Some of the products are exported to the U. S., Japan, France, Australia, Vietnam, South Korea and etc. In June 2003, the "Double Ring" and the "Huangshan" brands were awarded the title of "China Famous Brands" by the China Enterprise Brand Promotion Committee. Especially since 2002, Anqing Petrochemical Works has been awarded the title of “National Contract-honoring and Promise-keeping Enterprise”, “National Democratic Management and Increase Transparency in Factory Affairs Advanced Unit”, “National Occupational Health Pilot Enterprise”, “Provincial Civilization Unit of Anhui”, “Provincial Quality Advanced Group of Anhui”, “Provincial Tenth-Five-Year-Plan-based Innovation Project Advanced Unit ”, etc.
As “Coal–for-Oil” project and No.6 coal-burning boiler was built and put into operation, and a few priority engineering projects£¬such as a 100,000 t/y ethyl benzene–styrene unit£¬a enlarging project of 130,000 t/y AN unit£¬a new building project of 2.2 million t/y wax oils hydrogenation unit, an “Anqing to Hefei” product oil pipeline, etc. start and carry out one after another, as well as a integrated petrochemical project of estimate invests RMB 10 billion Yuan - 8 million t/y crude oil processing unit vigorously proceed, the enterprise will further do greatly and strongly. The oil refining plant of Anqing Company was initially built from July, 1974 and passed the state acceptance inspection in 1982. Now the Company owns the following units: two sets of atmospheric and vacuum distillation units with a capacity of 4 and 1.5 million t/y respectively; a FCC unit with a capacity of 1.4 million t/y; a DCC unit with a capacity of 700,000 t/y; a LPG mercaptan removing unit with a capacity of 200,000t/y; a LPG sulfur removing unit with a capacity of 200,000t/y; a gasoline sulfur removing unit with a capacity of 120,000t/y; a dry gas mercaptan removing unit with a capacity of 50,000t/y; a gas separation unit assembly consisting of 6 sets of unit with a total capacity of 200,000t/y; a delayed coking unit with a capacity of 1.5 million t/y; three sets of hydrogenation refining unit with a capacity of 200,000t/y, 600,000t/y and 800,000t/y respectively; a catalytic reforming unit with a capacity of 220,000t/y; a gas separation unit with a capacity of 120,000t/y and a polypropylene unit with a capacity of 30,000t/y. The crude oil proceed in the oil refining units comes from Luning pipe-transferred oil, off shore oil and imported oil. From initial operation of the plant, a total amount of 68 million tons of crude oil has been processed by the refining units of the Company. As for the products, there are almost 30 varieties. Among them, the “double-ring” brand gasoline, lead-free, No. 90, the light diesel oil, No. 0 and the LPG have been awarded the title of “Famous Product of Anhui Province” in succession from 1997. The “Double-bell” brand PP resin has been awarded the title of “Famous Product of Anhui Province in 2004”. The A fuel oil, No. 0 light diesel oil, industrial sulfur and petroleum coke, etc. have entered into the international market and have been exported to more than ten countries and regions such as Japan, America and west Europe, etc.
The main product of the chemical fertilizer plant of Anqing Company is the “Double-ring” brand agricultural urea. It strictly meets GB2440-2001 code. The percent of pass of the main 4 quality targets--N content, water content, biuret content and particle size reach 100%. Among them, premium grades rate is over 95%. This product has been awarded the title of “Provincial High Quality Product”, “Ministerial High Quality Product”, “ Anhui Provincial Free Inspection Product”, “The Most Influential and Famous Brand Since Reform and Opening-up 20 Years Ago”, “Top 10-Brand of the Trade in 1999-2000” and “Famous Brand Product in Anhui Province in 1996”, etc. In 2001 and 2004, the “Double-ring” brand urea was twice awarded the title of “National Free Inspection Product” by the State Bureau of Quality and Technology Supervision. In order to lower the production cost, Anqing Company began the coal-for-oil revamp in the end of the year 2000 by changing the raw material of chemical fertilizer with the support of Shell coal gasification technology. The project was initiated in Nov., 2001, approved formally by the state in Sept., 2003 and began to construction in Mar., 2004. After three years of joint efforts of the relative construction parties, the plant was put into operation successfully on Nov. 18, 2006 and produced qualified urea product on Dec. 13.
The acrylic fiber unit of Anqing Company was put into operation in Oct., 1995. The unit has a designed capacity of 50,000 tones of acrylonitrile and 50,000 tons of acrylic fiber. Among them, the AN unit adopts the propylene ammoxidation process of BP Chemicals in USA while the acrylic fiber unit adopts water phase suspension, steering spinning and sodium thiocyanate solvent wet spinning technology developed by American Cyanamid Company. Main equipment of the unit was imported from USA, Japan, Germany or Italy. The control system is TDC-3000 distributed control system of Honeywell, USA. The key working procedures are monitored by industrial line monitors. In1999 and 2001, the annual capacity of acrylic fiber unit and the acrylonitrile unit reaches 70,000 and 80,000 tons respectively after extension. Since operation of the units, Anqing Company has carried out more than 100 items of technical revamp to the polymerization and spinning system with new technology and new process, including the successful test of increasing 3rd monomer in polymerization which improves the quality of acrylic fiber markedly to a level that the ratio of first-grade products of chemical fiber product reaches 97% and ex factory pass rate reaches 100%. In order to improve the updating and upgrading of acrylic fiber products with the support of scientific development in recent years, Anqing Company has developed several dozens of new varieties such as colored, high-shrinkage, anti- ultraviolet radiation, fine-denier, fire-retardant flat-section fiber and Raschel top, high shrinkage top, etc. Now the Company is among those enterprises of the trade in our country owning relatively more varieties of product. The “Huangshan” brand acrylic fiber staple and bulk top have been awarded the title of “Famous Product of Anhui Province in 1998” and the industrial acrylonitrile has been awarded the title of “Famous Product of Anhui Province in 2004”.
