SINOPEC Tianjin Company, situated at Dagang district of Tianjin Binhai New Area, is a national super-large petrochemical complex which was originated from reorganization & restructuring of main business of former Tianjin petrochemical corporation, SINOPEC in April of 2000.
By the end of 2007, the original value regarding fixed asset of Tianjin Company is 19.086 billion RMB. SINOPEC Tianjin Company is comprised of 15 oil refining units, 15 chemical production units, and 9 chemical fiber units. The processing capacity of crude oil is 5,500 KTA, production capacity is as follows: ethylene 200 KTA, PX 380 KTA, PTA 344 KTA, polyester 200 KTA, polyester staple fiber 100 KTA, polyester filament fiber 90 KTA. The storage power for crude oil can reach 460,000 m3. The utility system equipped for main production unit involves power plant with installed capacity of 200,000kw and water supply with the capacity of 170,000t/d.

The major products include 3 categories like petroleum refining, petrochemical, and chemical fiber covering 279 specifications, such as clean automobile gasoline, kerosene, jet fuel, light diesel oil, liquid petroleum gas, heavy fuel oil, ship fuel oil, solvent naphtha, petrol coke, para-xylene, purified terephthalic acid, benzene, ethylene, polyethylene, polypropylene, ethylene oxide, ethylene glycol, polyester chips, polyester filament & staple fiber and etc. All the products above have been enjoying good reputation in the market. Among these products, both polyester staple fiber and 3# jet fuel ranks high-quality product nationwide. The following products like ‘Jingang’ clean automobile gasoline, 3# jet fuel, light diesel oil and ‘Tianxian’ polyester staple fiber are awarded Tianjin well-known trademark. In addition, ‘Tianxian’ polyester staple fiber is elected ‘Customer Satisfied Products’ and ‘National Standard Sample Products’.

SINOPEC Tianjin Company not only possesses complete scientific research and educational system in regard to scientific research, design, and staff-training, but also has tremendous technical strength. For many years, Tianjin Company has been developing new variety and specification of products like clean gasoline, differential fiber based on the market demand by promoting innovation and incessantly adopting new process, new technology, and new equipments in the light of technical strength. On Jun.26, 2006, the stone foundation-laying for SINOPEC Tianjin 1000 KTA ethylene and assembly project marked new beginning of the 3rd undertaking by Tianjin Company in all-around way. This project is a critical construction item in China, and is a ‘dragon-head’ item in Tianjin Binhai new area too. To be sure, the construction of this project will certainly play a big part in boosting the local economy.

In consideration of either plant scale and technology or turnover and profitability after the completion of this project in 2009, SINOPEC Tianjin Company will be a leading and first-class enterprise in China, and its core competitive power and ability against risk are to be extremely consolidated. At that time, the once-through processing capacity of crude oil can come up to 15,000 KTA; production capacity of ethylene can reach 1,200 KTA.
