Sinopec Jinling Company (Jinling in brief) located in the northeastern suburb of Nanjing City, at the foot of Qixia Mountain. It stands at the south bank of the Yangtse River which is well-known as a “Golden Waterway”, with Xinshengwei Harbor as its west neighbor, and connected southward to the Beijing-Shanghai Railway and the Shanghai-Nanjing Highway. Such a perfect location endowed Jinling with very convenient transports by ship, road, rail and air. Jinling owns well equipped jetties for handling crude oil and refined oil to and fro, which can berth oil tankers up to 50,000 DWT, and its in-house rails are linked to Yaohuamen Marshalling Yard, the biggest one in East China. The expressway in front of Jinling complex can easily take you to Lukou International Airport.
Being a state-of-the-art giant Petrochemical SOE (Stated-Owned Enterprise), Jinling is mainly engaged in oil refining as well as production and sales of petrochemical products with its more than 40 processing units covering crude refining, chemical fertilizer production and thermal power generation, etc. Today Jinling is powerful in both production and technology with sophisticated crude processing facilities. Especially after series of revamping projects on Refinery and Chemical Fertilizer plant were completed in the “Tenth-Five Year Plan”period, Jinling’s overall crude throughput has leapt up to 13.5 million t/a, which places Jinling into one of the ten-million-above capacity crude refining complex bases. By means of retrofitting for Chemical Fertilizer Complex, a coal slurry based gasification unit was put into stream. Thus, the merits of internal integration of oil, chemical and power generation become even more noticeable, overall competitiveness is greatly enhanced.
Jinling produces about 70 oil products, in which more than 30 were awarded the title of “Quality Product” at different levels, e.g. national, ministerial, provincial and Sinopec group-wide. It is one of the major suppliers of gasoline, kerosene, diesel, fuel oil, petroleum coke, liquid hydrocarbon, petroleum benzene and urea, etc. in East China and areas alongside the Yangtse River. Moreover, it is also an important raw material base around Nanjing for manufacturers of ethylene, alkyl benzene, chemical fertilizer, PTA, PP, etc. Not only satisfying the demand in East China and distributing nationwide, it also exports naphtha, jet fuel, gasoline and petroleum coke to more than 30 countries and regions such as South Korea, North Korea, Japan, India, Hongkong and Southeast Asian countries.
