Sinopec Qilu Company, located in Zibo city, Shandong province, with 24.8 square kilometers area, is a super large scale refining, chemical, chemical fiber enterprise of petroleum/salt/coal/natural gas chemical.
Built in 1966, for over forty years, Qilu owns 35 billion Yuan fixed original asset and 112 large petroleum/petrochemical production plants, annually processing 10 million tons crude, producing 800,000 tons ethylene, 1.086 million tons synthetic resin, 450,000 tons caustic soda, 270,000 tons rubber, 450,000 tons benzenes, 435,000 tons alcohols, 480,000 tons urea and 500,000 kilowatt cogeneration capacity. There are over 120 grades of petrochemical products: gasoline, kerosene, diesel, PE, PP, PVC, synthetic rubber/fiber, mainly selling in China and some exporting to Japan, South Korea, U.S.A, Germany, Australia, Middle East and Southeast Asia. Butanol/2-EH production is the biggest in Asia; SBR production biggest in China, second in Asia; PVC biggest in China, fifth in the world. Qilu caustic soda and PVC are China Famous Brand.
In 2009, Qilu processed 10.06 million tons crude, produced 760,000 tons ethylene, 1.03 million tons plastics, 415,000 tons caustic soda, 249,000 tons rubber, 286,000 tons butanol/2-EH, 65,000 tons acrylic fiber and generated 3.42 billion kilowatt-hours.
Qilu implements scientific outlook for development to strive to build a resource-conserving and environment-friendly enterprise. Qilu made outstanding progresses in saving energy and reducing emissions when constantly increasing gross production and shouldered SOE (state-owned enterprise) political, economic and social responsibilities.
