China Petroleum& Chemical Corporation Gas Company (Gas Company, hereinafter) was established on 6th June, 2005. As an affiliated company of China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec, hereinafter), it specializes in project construction, trading, transporting and sales of natural gas. Gas Company is an independent accounting commercial entity and profit centre.

Along with the establishment of the Gas Company, it has been taking aim at the high quality management in both domestic and international gas enterprises. The company insists on the principle of “professional management, market operation and maximum profit”, aims at establishing “new business system, new business module and new mechanism”, to strengthen infrastructure construction and promote innovation development. “Oil and natural gas company” business model has been identified and internal control system and other administration systems have been established, including ERP system, management and assessment of the achievement£¬production operating system and office automation system. All above activities pushed forward the company’s rapid development.  Currently, main businesses of the company include:
1. Operation management and gas sales of SINOPEC Shandong natural gas pipeline network, supplying natural gas to Jinan, Qingdao, Weifang, Zibo, Dezhou, Liaocheng, Laifu, TaiAn of  Shandong province, and Zhengzhou of Henan province. 
2. Responsible for construction work and operation management of Sichuan to east natural gas pipeline transportation project and Yuji gas pipeline transportation project,  and also responsible for target market gas sales work along the pipelines.
3. Responsible for construction and market development of Shandong  LNG project.
4. authorized by SINOPEC, the company is responsible for joint venture cooperation work with provinces (cities) along the long distance pipeline. At present, several provincial level natural gas companies have been established in Jiangsu, Jiangxi, and Guangdong province.

According to SINOPEC’s strategy of “Natural gas development” and integrated principle of “resource, market, pipeline network, and profit”, the Gas Company has established working thought of “setting up five main systems, achieving five main objectives” for the later three years of the “eleventh five-year plan”. The five main systems include marketing system, production operation guarantee system, HSE management system, enterprise administration system and employee development system. The five main objectives include operation expansion, basically completion of main pipeline network, keeping increase of market share, maintaining improvement of economic efficiency, gradually formation of excellent enterprise culture.
