Sinopec Gas Company（Gas Company for short） was established on 6th June, 2005. As a specialized company of Sinopec, it is in charge of natural gas project construction, operation and sales of natural gas. Gas Company is an independent accounting commercial entity and profit centre.  Gas Co., Ltd. was established on 21st July, 2009.
Main businesses of Gas Company include:
1. Responsible for Construction work and Operation management of long distance gas transmission pipeline, LNG receiving terminal, CNG re-filling station, under-ground gas storage and so on of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation.
2. Responsible for market development and gas sales work along the long distance gas transmission pipelines and of LNG project.
3. Responsible for joint venture cooperation work with provinces along the long distance transmission pipeline, operation of provincial and municipal pipeline network and development of terminal marketing sales business. 
4. Responsible for management of regional companies and joint ventures.

Since its establishment, the Gas Company has fully stuck to SINOPEC’s strategy of “great-leap-forward development of natural gas”. According to integration requirement of “resource, pipeline network, market and efficiency”, the company has optimized Shandong natural gas pipeline network and strengthened operation of Shandong and Henan markets. The company has participated to organizing construction of Sichuan to east gas transmission pipeline project, carried out operation preparation work for it, and the main trunk-line has been put into operation. The company has organized construction of Yulin to Jinan gas transmission pipeline project, with phase I put into operation, and whole pipeline is expected to put into operation in the third quarter of 2010; organized construction of Zhuhai Hengqin pipeline project and Macau land gas transmission system, realizing gas supply to Macau; carried out pre-stage work for Shandong LNG project, planning and construction of CNG refilling station and study work for underground storage of Jintan, Zhongyuan, Jianghan; organized business cooperation work with provinces such as Shandong, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Zhejiang and so on, establishing provincial pipeline network companies. At present, the Gas Company has total pipeline (including existing and under construction) network of more than 4600 km, with gradual formation of strategic layout of “two pipelines” (Sichuan to east gas pipeline, Yulin to Jinan gas pipeline), “one terminal”( Shandong LNG terminal) and “three underground storages”(Zhongyuan, Jianghan and Jintan underground storages).
