SINOPEC East China Branch is a corporation with rich experience in oil & gas exploration and development. It headquarters in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province. There are seven production and research subordinate departments.
The total area is 63,500 square kilometer. East China branch has drilled in Subei area for half a century. In 1970, we made the first breakthrough in prospecting for oil in Jiangsu---- the discovery of well Su20. After that, more than 40 fields have been found. At present, we have developed more than 20 fields, including Caoshe, Zhoucheng, Taixing, Biancheng, Xinanzhuang, Jinnan, Zhuzhuang, Beihanzhuang, Yaotan, Jinnan and Lvjiazhuang ,etc. From the early 1990s, we have explored in Song Liao area, northeast of China. Thanks to the efforts made over the past ten years, we made breakthroughs in Yaoyingtai in 2003 and two years later found a hundred million tons scaled field and made anther breakthrough in its depression and fault formation. East China branch actively respond to the SINOPEC strategy for oil & gas resources development, developing a prospective study on Xiayangzi area and become the technological support unit for overseas explorations in Kazakhstan and Gabon. In2008£¬our oilfields in Northeast China turned over to SINOPEC. From then on, we are mainly undertaking the tasks about coal-bed gas, oil shale and those non-conventional oil-gas exploration and development. We become a SINOPEC professional team for non-conventional exploration.
We not only own a great deal of experience in small oil fields exploration and development, but also familiar with the rule of remaining oil enrichment and well controlled the rate of maturing field natural decline. As a result, the Subei small oil fields which under our control kept in a good condition of stead production and growth for decade. We offered average 20 million tons of three levels IOIP and more than five million tons identified resources last few years. By the end of 2007, we offered totally 210 million tons of three levels IOIP.
East China branch sets a high value on talents and technology all the time. To be more adaptable for developing explorations, we pay more attention to training and bringing in specialists, establishing a long-term cooperative relationship with relevant universities, such as Northwest University, East China Petroleum Institute and Nanjing University. Besides, technique power has grown rapidly after inviting professionals from other companies. For example, we hold different scales of academic exchange, inviting oil exploration &development experts to lecture every year. We encourage all the staff carries out scientific research with practical problems. About 75 percent of scientific projects convert to application.
East China branch has a good academic atmosphere base on its production needs. Conditions for scientific research were improved markedly, accelerating our scientific and technological innovation. A system we developed specially for widespread low-porosity penetration & low abundance of litho-tectonic complex field (Northeast Songnan) and Subei complex micro-miniature block oilfield. In fields development, we also adopt the techniques( 3D seismic , direction wells , cluster wells , lateral wells, SH window cutting drilling, sidetrack lateral wells, reservoir fine description, residual oil research, hydrocarbon reservoir protection, etc.) to promote the further exploration, reserves and recovery ratio. In order to make a non-conventional oil-gas general survey for Sinopec, find the rule of its reservoir, attacking the develop problems for the non-conventional oil-gas exploration; we sincerely hope to see increased cooperation with our professions for the common development.
