Sinopec Northwest Oilfield Company is one of Sinopec upstream oil field enterprise, which was located in a beautiful and richly endowed Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. Northwest Oilfield Company is engaged in exploration, development and marketing of oil and gas. Its headquarters is in Urumqi, and the front directing base is in Luntai county of Bayinguolen Mongolia autonomous canton. At present, the company has 37 oil and gas exploration blocks; total area is up to 143.1 thousands km2, holds 13.704 billions tons oil and gas of perspective resource and 3.417 billions tons oil of 3 grades OOIP. At the end of 2010, the company has been developing 6 oil and gas fields, which are Tahe, Xidaliya, Bashituo, Yakela, Dalaoba, and S3-1, has 1117 wells of total oil and gas wells, including 903 production well.
Northwest Oilfield Company, a contribution crew that belongs to former Geological Mineral Department, had been engaged in petroleum geological reconnaissance exploration. It had participated in discovering Daqing, Liaohe and Shengli oil fields early or late, which contributed superiorly for the start and development of petroleum industry of new China. Since 1978, the year when it first came into Xinjiang, it had developed petroleum reconnaissance in Tarim, Zhunger and Tuha basins. On September 22, 1984, well SC2 deployed at Shaya uplift in Tarim basin realized important breakthrough, which means discovery of the first marine facies Paleozoic carbonate oil-gas field, and opened the large-scale oil-gas exploration. In 1997, well S46 and well S48, aiming at Ordovician carbonate exploration domain under paleo-eroding surface of early Hercynian period, had obtained high yielding and stable industrial oil-gas flow. The first Paleozoic marine facies large oil field, Tahe oil field, was discovered, which recognized the real important breakthrough to Paleozoic marine facies carbonate oil-gas exploration in China.
In the period of 11th 5-year, Northwest Oilfield Company has achieved rapid growth in reserves and yield, including 110 million tons in an average annual growth of oil geology oil reserves, the oil output from the 4.2 million tons in 2005 to 7 million tons in 2010, 0.6 million tons in an average annual increase of oil, gas output from 2005 to grow to 3.6 billion cubic in 2010 to 1.58 billion cubic meters which increased 3 times.
With the new progress in scientific and technological, the company has proposed Carbonate fractural-cavern oil field development theory by developing Chinese characteristics Paleozoic marine carbonate oil and gas accumulation theory, and innovated and developed the eight supporting technology. In 2010, "The Giant oil and gas exploration and development in Tahe Ordovician carbonate field" project won the first prize of national scientific and technological progress.
Continuously improving enterprise management level, the ten production management system was established, which promoted the full implementation of the internal management, comprehensive budget management, fine investment management, and other advanced management methods.Holding fruitful spiritual civilization, Northwest Oilfield Company has been prized “The Civilization Unit Xinjiang Autonomous” 17 years consecutively, the national "Health Cup” competition winning business title 8 consecutive years, the "National Labor Award" in 2001, the "Model Home" title in 2008, "outstanding contributions to China's Western Development Group" in 2010, and the honor of "Democracy for democratic management advanced unit".
By the recently rapid development, the oil rate of Northwest Oilfield Company ranks second place in SINOPEC upstream oil field enterprises, and one of “Ten domestic onshore oil field” in China. Its production rate, benefit and profit for each person comes out top in every China large oil fields. Its per capita output, efficiency and profit stand the front in the top onshore fields in the country for many years.
Northwest Branch is charged with the important task of increasing reserves and production of Sinopec, and the mission of expediting progress in the west. According to the integer progress aim of Sonopec, combining with the resource status quo of royalty region and exploration and development posture in Xinjiang.
