Sinopec Southwest Petroleum Branch is an enterprise of engaging in oil & natural gas exploration£¬development and marketing of Sinopec, the headquarter is located at Chengdu city, Sichuan province.

During the oil & gas exploration practice of  Sichuan Basin and periphery, Southwest Petroleum Branch has been establishing professional and technical teams at Petroleum Geology, Geophysical, Petroleum development and Petroleum Engineering£¬has been accumulating rich personnel & technology resources, and has trained a lot of influential academic leaders and management experts. Southwest Petroleum Branch established one Post-doctoral scientific research workstation .  With strong innovation & research capabilities, Southwest Petroleum Branch form it’s own exploration & development technology systems, most scientific researches reached national or world wide leading level. Southwest Petroleum Branch was awarded 5 national scientific & technological first, second class prizes, 221 ministerial and provincial scientific & technological prizes. Till now Southwest Petroleum Branch has produced natural gas 25 billion m3, crude oil 1.5× 106 t in total.

At present, Southwest Petroleum Branch owns 16 exploration blocks, 18 developing blocks and 5 predeveloping blocks with total area 35000 km2, total natural gas resources over 8 trillion m3,crude oil resources over 0.833×108 t .All of these exploration & developing areas are located at Sichuan province, Yunnan province, Guizhou province , GuangxiZhuang Autonomous Region and Chongqing city. With complete matching ,update equipment, Southwest Petroleum Branch has  1,300 oil &gas wells, builds more than 310 gas distribution stations and over 3000 km pipelines. It has formed a stronger delivery pipeline system and a complete network of natural gas production, supply and marketing, most of markets are located at the core area of economic development in western Sichuan such as Chengdu, Deyang & Mianyang etc£¬and also located at  northern Sichuan,northeastern Sichuan,some regions in Chongqing city ,Yunnan province and Guizhou province.
