Jiangsu Oilfield Company is located in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, the oil-bearing area is widely distributed within 6 cities, 12 counties in Jiangsu and Anhui provinces, covering Jiangdu, Hanjiang, Gaoyou, Yizheng of Yangzhou city, Xinghua of Taizhou City, Jinhu, Xuyi, Hongze of Huaiyin city, Dongtai、Sheyang of Yancheng city in Jiangsu Province and Tianchang of Chuzhou city in Anhui province.
Jiangsu Oilfield Company has been richly rewarded in exploration and development with promising future. In 2010, the oil production was 1.71 million tons and gas production 56.49 million cubic meters. Up to now, 37 oil and gas fields have been discovered, with 255.93 million tons of proved geological oil reserves, 218.57 square kilometers of oil-bearing area, 8.183 billion cubic meters of geological gas reserves and 147.41 square kilometers of gas-bearing areas been proved. With regard to the overall situation, oil and gas production will remain flourishing at present and in the long future. Particularly, Xuwen Block of Beibuwan Basin and Mesozoic & Paleozoic of lower Yangtze, as the exploration replace areas, are in the preliminary stage of evaluation research and early breakthrough stage of exploration evaluation with enormous potentials.
