Sinopec Zhongyuan oilfield company (hereinafter called zhongyuan oilfield) is an important base of oil and gas production in the east China. The operationl zone croosses 6 cities and 12 counties (districts) beionging henan and shandong provinces . The main exploration & development area-Dongpu depression covers 5300 km2, now the original value of fixed asset is 36.787 billion yuan(RMB), the net value is 16.988 billion yuan(RMB). 

By the end of 2006, the accumulative proved oil bearing area is 438.93km2, gas bearing area is 149.07 km2. Proved oil geologic reserves are 557 million tons, and condensate reserves are 797.38 million tons. Proved gas geologic reserves are 61.577 billion m3, and solution gas geologic reserves are 67.612 billion m3. The producing geological reserves of oil are 508 million tons, the producing geologic reserves of gas are 105.226 billion, and the accumulative produced crude oil and natural gas is 118 million tons, 37.2 billion m3 respectively. In 2006, the oil output is 3105 thousand tons, the gas output is 1.64 billion m3. The crude oil produced mainly transport to Luoyang petroleum & chemical plant. Natural gas produced are used as important industrial/civilian material or fuel, mainly supply for more than 20 state-owned corporations and some villages and towns as industrial material, and supply for more than 14 cities like Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, Jinan etc. as civilian fuel.

Lately, managers in Zhongyuan oilfield have adjusted the line in exploration, focused main mind on increasing proved reserves in old areas, and focused main mind on discovery and breakthrough in new areas. They have pushed project management, taken repeating exploration and development as a whole in operation, emphasized the accurateness and profit during exploration, so the rate of successful exploration and the rate of producing reserves is increasing more and more. To aim at the main problems in the oilfield development, managers have raised and pushed ways and means as follows: to practise “four changes”, to adjust “three structures” and to emphasize “three aspects of work”. Through these methods, the production of new areas and condition of old areas have improved a lot, profit of the old oil&gas reservoirs has increased, so the oilfield can run stably, and main production of oil and gas can develop effectively.

At the beginning of 2005, Sinopec gaves Sichuan northeast Puguang gas field to Zhongyuan oilfield to exploit and construct. Now, the main and circumjacent developing concept design has been finished. The exploitation and construction have been started, and going on smoothly. In the end of 2008, Puguang gas field will have the productivity of natural gas 12 billion m3 /y, and the productivity of commercial natural gas about 9 billion m3 /y.

Zhongyuan oilfield is one of the most complicated fault-block oilfield. The structure is fractured, and oil and gas reservoir deeply underground, this oilfield has characteristics of low permeability, high temperature, high pressure and high salt, so its exploration and development can be world-class puzzle. In the tenth five-year plan, Sinopec organized a three-year new period of science and technology research on key problems. The company has obtained 2 of the achievements exceeded international level, 17 of the achievements reached international level, 21 of the achievements reached our national level, and 21 items of technology gained the national patent, those formed integrated matching technology with zhongyuan    oilfield characteristic. In 2006, 94 items were engaged in, and 64 important items have been finished. Fine exploration level is improving gradually, means of oil and gas exploitation is getting enhanced. For example, the mechanical drilling speed in Puguang gas field has increased 4 to 8 times for the introduction of new air drilling technology.

Nowadays, Zhongyuan oilfield has entered a new developing period. In 2007, people in Zhongyuan oilfield will follow the policy of the sixth plenary session of the sixteen contral committee of the CPC£¬carry through all the work plan of Sinopec seriously, put the science development view into fact, take reservoir management as the masterstroke, take scientific progress as the support, take fine management as the passport, take deeply reformation as the power, stabilize east part and quicken steps of Puguang development, lower the cost and increase the profit, and really promote zhongyuan oilfield to develop continually effectively and harmoniously.
