Shengli Oilfield Company, Sinopec (Shengli Oilfield as bellowing) which is located in Dongying city, Shandong province, at the downstream of Yellow River. The working area of Shengli Oilfield distributes in Dongying, Binzhou, Dezhou and etc. 8 cities and 28 counties of Shandong, also some basins of Xinjiang such as Zhungeer, Tuha, Tacheng, as well as Chaidamu of Qinghai and Dunhuang of Gansu. By the end of 2009, Shengli Oilfield has proved exploration area of 201.3 thousand km2.
Shengli Oilfield put the exploration and development of oil and gas as the key program. Especially from 90’s of last century, Shengli Oilfield has implemented resources expansion strategy, achieving exploration and development from land to offshore, from local to outside, from domestic to international. By the end of 2009, 76 oil and gas fields in different types had been discovered with 4.845 billion tons of producing oil geology reserves and 40.91billion cubic meters of natural gas. During 27years, newly increasing developing reserves maintains in 100 million tons, and reserves of developing, controlling, predicting had exceeded 100 million tons in continuous 7 years. By the end of 2009, Shengli Oilfield has accumulated produced oil 964 million tons, 1/5 of total oil production all over China, has produced natural gas 40.635 billion cubic meters. In the year of 2009, Shengli Oilfield has newly developed oil geology reserves 104 million tons, increasing controlling oil geology reserves 104 million tons, increasing predicting oil geology reserves 102 million tons, produced natural gas 700 million cubic meters.
By implementing the strategy of boosting petroleum industry through science and technology, Shengli Oil Field has created a series of theoretical and technological system with Shengli characteristics. In exploration field, theories of geological exploration at double-typed oil and gas gathering area of Bohai gulf basin, exploration of hidden reservoir of continental fault basin and varieties of hidden hill of fault basin have formed to ensure the orderly and efficient replacement of oil and gas resources. In development field, a set of development theory system mainly based on theories of surplus oil enrichment region of continental water-drive reservoir, polymer potentiating and low permeability reservoir development has formed to ensure the sustainable and stable development of crude oil production. And technically, through years of research, ten supplementary technologies which are leading the way in the same domestic industries such as the hidden reservoir exploration supplementary technology and geophysical prospecting supplementary technology have formed to provide strong support for the exploration and development industry. Since 1978, totally 6779 different types of scientific and technological achievements have been made in Shengli Oil Field, among which 106 have won national level award and 665 won provincial and ministerial level award. In recent years, oil increment produced through oil field science and technology has amounted over 3 million tons annually. At the same time, Shengli Oil Field has trained and set up a team with strong scientific and technological force and professional supplementary technologies. It owns 5 key science and research institutes with 1 member of China Engineering Academy and 45 experts who enjoy the special government allowance and who have made the outstanding contributions of provincial and ministerial level.
Shengli Oilfield also has established the enterprise culture with Shengli style, and had achieved top level enterprises and honest and trust enterprise with high reputation in China.
