SINOPEC Shengli Oilfield Subsidiary Company of SINOPEC (hereinafter referred as Shengli Oilfield Company) is located in Dongying city which lies by the downstream of the Yellow River, its main working area covers 28 counties under the jurisdiction of eight cities in Shandong Province, namely Dongying, Binzhou, Dezhou, Ji'nan, Weifang, Zibo, Liaocheng and Yantai; and the address of its headquarter is No. 258 Ji'nan Road, Dongying City.

Till the end of 2007, there are totally 21 subunits, 185 third class units and 1,292 fourth class units in Shengli Oilfield Company. The headquarter has 15 functional offices, 3 direct subordinates and a workforce of 87,379 including 58,526 permanent workers, among which 2,952 employees got the advanced technical title and 8,529 got the middle technical title. Shengli Oilfield Company has a group of capable work crews including 343 oil production crews, 25 steam injection crews for heavy oil recovery, 7 gas production crews, 88 oil & gas delivery crews and 4 transportation crews. Total fixed capital of Shengli Oilfield Company amount to 65.205 billion RMB with net hydrocarbon capital as 54.826 billion RMB; the total installed machinery number is 307.92 million with installed power of 2.3793 million kilowatts, and the average equipment fresh ratio is 0.39.

As the second largest oil production base in China, Shengli Oilfield was discovered in 1961 and put into production since 1964. By the end of 2007, 75 oil or gas fields of different types had been discovered, and the cumulative production of crude oil and natural gas were respectively 908 million tons and 39.164 billion cubic meters. At present, Shengli Oilfield Company has 22,891 producing wells and 17,817 of them are under production with an annual crude oil production capacity of 27 million tons. The average water cut of the entire field is 90.34%, with a natural decline ratio of 14.7%, and a composite decline ratio of 5.98%. Shengli Oilfield Company also owns 371 gas wells and 94 of them are under production with an annual production capacity of 784 million cubic meters; there are 7,455 water injection wells with a daily injection capacity of 617,300 cubic meters, and the accumulated injection-production ratio is 0.79. Shengli Oilfield Company has 2103 metering stations, 261 injection stations and 50 multi-purpose stations with annual fluid processing capacity of 325 million tons; 60 block stations with annual processing capacity of 77.33 million tons and 55 sewage stations with annual wastewater processing capacity of 340 million cubic meters. Collector pipeline of Shengli Oilfield Company is 20,900units/12,800km, it also owns 93 offshore production platforms and submarine pipeline is 76unit/144.4km. Therefore, Shengli Oilfield Company has built up a Shengli characterized, self-contained tech system including crude oil delivery, dehydration, and wastewater treatment.

Since 1978, Shengli Oilfield Company has achieved 6,129 awards in scientific research, including 102 state awards, 596 provincial awards, 1,333 patents, and 972 items of patented technologies have been implemented.
