Sinopec Yunnan Oil Products Company (YOPC), the direct subsidiary of Sinopec and the most powerful sales enterprise of finished oil products in Yunnan Province, is in charge of the retail, direct marketing and wholesale of petroleum, diesel oil, lubricant and other petrochemical products.
YOPC developed from the Yunnan Head Office of Oil which was established in July 1952. In June 1998 the Head Office was merged into China Petroleum & Chemical Group Corporation, the main part of which, in February 2000, developed into Sinopec Yunnan Oil Products Company to meet the requirement of the separation of the main and the subsidiary company and the enterprise re-organization for stock market.
YOPC, after being a part of China Petroleum & Chemical Group Corporation, boasts of its ever-increasing sales amount, steady increase in profits, striking improvement of the assets quality, remarkable rise in competition. YOPC is now running 13 depots, pipeline transportation of 600 kilometres, and more than 1100 service stations ad its total assets amounts to RMB 5.5 billion.
YOPC adheres to the business philosophy of Market, Sales and Profit First and has successfully coped with the difficulties of declining domestic demand, frequent fluctuations of price and fierce competition. By keeping attacking state and reaching optimum momentum, YOPC actively maintained the market share in 2009. The annual sales of finished oil ran up to 431 million tons, and compared to the same period of the previous year, it realized an increase of 6.5 percent and covered 67.4 percent of the market.
