Located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation Guangxi Petroleum Branch (abbreviated as “SINOPEC Guangxi Oil Products Company”, hereinafter referred as “the company”) is established from the former Guangxi Petroleum Company, which was founded in 1952 and transferred to China Petrol Chemical Corporation in August of 1998. According to the principle of “reforming and separating from the main section”, Guangxi Oil Products Company (listed) and Guangxi Petroleum Company (non-listed) were founded in February of 2000. The company took over all choice assets and business of the former Guangxi Petroleum Company. In October of 2006, Guangxi Petroleum Company changed the system wholly as Guangxi Oil Products Company attached to the SINOPEC Capital Management Administration Co., Ltd. In 2009, the company consolidated partial functions from its listed and non-listed subsidiaries, further promoting the reform of all-in-one management.
Being the largest sale company of oil products in Guangxi, the company has 10 regional branches (in Nanning, Liuzhou, Guilin, Wuzhou, Yulin, Guigang, Baise, Hechi, Beihai and Qinzhou) and a wide, all-around functional sale network of oil products. It provides oil products in Guangxi such as gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, lubricant, fuel oil, retail stores and so on.
With active response to the influences from international economy crisis, profound changes in external market conditions and other aspects, the company had spent the year 2009 in delicate operations and market share increases to ensure supply of oil product resources, marking a new, high record of its total sales. In its persistence of performing social accountability and political responsibility as a large-scale state-owned enterprise, the company has been seen active in disaster recovery and support works as well as in social public services, hence received high praise from the central and local governments and party committees, demonstrating a sound image of SINOPEC.
In 2009, the company has taken the significant opportunity in the new phase of strategic cooperation between SINOPEC corporation and government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; by such, it has furthered the coordination between government and the company to achieve a strategic cooperation, as well as expanding the joint-venture platform to promote the growth of its operation network. Many newly designed gas stations were built, review and reform of safety regulations and upgrades of hardware and facilities were performed, non-oil product operation in stations was promoted with significant support, the expansion and quality improvement of station network were taken as the priority, and auxiliary features of gas stations were continuously being perfected – all these actions have led to an effective combination of expansion to the outside and quality perfection of the inside.
In terms of management, in 2009, the company has taken priority in “serve for operation, enhance in control” by optimizing financial control, promoting exploitment of potentials and increase of efficiency, enhancing internal control, hence promoting the management capacity level on the whole. Events themed “Safety Wanted” were held and the Regulations of Prohibitions to Perform Safe Production of Oil Products in Guangxi was established, ensuring a safe and secured production for the whole year.
