Sinopec Guangdong Oil Company (hereinafter referred as Sinopec Guangdong) is a marketing and sales company directly subordinate to China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation. In the course of development, Sinopec Guangdong initially was under Oil Trading Company of China as the Guangzhou subsidiary, which was founded in June 1950, and then it was upgraded to the province level called Guangdong Oil Company after the reorganization in November 1961. Almost thirty-one years later, Aug 1992, Guangdong Oil Company renamed to be Guangdong Oil Enterprise Group Company for an incorporating decision made by people’s government trying to setup an integrated distribution system. In July 1998, Guangdong Oil Enterprise Group Company together with its 116 subsidiaries were put under Sinopec Group, and during the first half year of 2000 after the restructuring decision of Petrochemical Corporation, Sinopec Guangdong officially formed and became an independent operation.
After 50 years of construction and development, Sinopec Guangdong has developed into a large-scale state-owned company with 16 branches at regional level, a network of over 2000 outlets, 179 direct-selling and wholesale business offices, 37 operating oil depots and a total asset of RMB 188 billion yuan. It has become a major supplier of oil products in oil market of Guangdong province with a sales network across Guangdong province and a service system approaching perfection day by day.
