Sinopec Jiangsu Oil Products Company is a state run large petroleum exchange enterprise. Facing the sea, it locates at the delta of Yangtze River where there is large market and the geographical advantage. In October 1997, Jiangsu Petroleum General Co. was changed in system to be Jiangsu Oil Products Group Co. In November 1997, It joined in Jiangsu Donglian Group Co. and in July 1998 it was wholly changed to be under Sinopec. Ltd. In early part of 2000, the business department of Jiangsu Oil Products Group Co. Ltd was formed to be Sinopec Jiangsu Oil Products Company (hereinafter referred to as JOP). JOP is mainly engaged in four products of gasoline, kerosene, diesel and lubricating oil and other petroleum products. JOP has 14 area branches of Nanjing Branch etc. JOP has over 2200 petroleum stations. The annual capacity for selling oil is over 75000000 tons, in which the final selling amount making up 92%. The market sharing for final products is over 72%.
Under the correct guidance of Sinopec Corp., Jiangsu Oil Products Company is actively pursuing various reform measures, and has preliminarily established modern enterprise managerial system and operational mechanism, gradually realizing the transition from a traditional state-owned enterprise to a modern one. In terms of operation, the Company has broken down the traditional block-dominated operation mode, but built up the professional operation system mainly relying on retails, direct sales and distributions instead. Also, it has imposed audacious operation mode reform. For the purpose of retail, on the basis of an oil station management mode consisting of direct-pipe and service station management firms and system-converted substations has taken shape. A thorough customer maintenance system has also been set up for direct sales and distributions. Its “Customer-centered” Service Mode enjoys extensive favorable comments. With respect to internal management, the Company never stops innovating. For example, the integration of subsidiaries’ operation management, uniformity of service warrants and downsizing of management levels have significantly enhanced its management efficiency and regional market competitiveness; sophisticated ERP management system and standard business operations have also eliminated operation management defects and increased working efficiency; a scientific system for talent discovery, utilization and training has been initially established, and an internationally-accepted reward incentive system that combines post level and performance assessment is being built, attracting a large number of outstanding talents.The Company also accelerates informatization construction to apply informatized management system to all the fields including purchase, sale and storage, and to launch IC Card Project in the service points throughout the system. To adapt itself to the environmental protection requirements in social development, the Company has implemented the HSE Management System aiming to safety, environment protection and health, and controlled and reduced various business hazards effectively, thus achieving favorable social benefits.
