Mr. Xie Zhongyu, 66, Independent Non-Executive Director of Sinopec Corp. Mr. Xie is a senior engineer with a bachelor degree. From May 1986, he acted as Deputy Director of Investigation Dept. and Policy Study Dept. in the Ministry of Chemical Industry. From November 1988, he acted as Deputy Director General of Policy and Law Dept. and became Director General in December 1991 in the Ministry. From September 1993, he acted as Director of General Office of the Ministry. From June 1998, he acted as Deputy Director General and member of the CPC Party Committee of State Oil and Chemical Industry Administration. From June 2000 to December 2006, he was appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board for Key Large State-Owned Enterprises. From October 2007, he acted as Director of the Board of Directors in State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation Ltd. (abbreviated as "SNPTC"). From May 2009, Mr. Xie was elected as Independent Non-Executive Director of Sinopec Corp.
