Mr. Li Deshui, 66, Independent Non-Executive Director of Sinopec Corp. Mr. Li is a senior engineer, researcher with a Bachelor’s Degree. He holds a concurrent position as professor of the Economic School of Peking University and the Economic School of Renmin University of China. From1992, Mr. Li acted as Deputy Director General of the National Economy General Department of the State Planning Commission. From May 1996, Mr. Li acted as Head of the National Economy General Department of the State Planning Commission. From November 1996, Mr. Li acted as Vice Mayor of Chongqing City of Sichuan Province. From March 1997, Mr. Li acted as Vice Mayor of Chongqing Municipality (directly under the Central Government). From November 1999, Mr. Li acted as Deputy Director of the Research Office of the State Council and Member of the Party Committee. From April 2002, Mr. Li served as Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of China International Engineering Consulting Company. From March 2003, Mr. Li acted as Secretary to the Party Committee and Head of the State Statistics Bureau, Member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the People's Bank of China and Chairman of China Statistics Institute. From March 2005, Mr. Li was elected as Vice Chairman of the 36th Session of Statistics Commission of the United Nations. From March 2005, Mr. Li acted as a member of the 10th CPPCC. In March 2006, Mr. Li served as Advisor to the State Statistics Bureau. In April 2006, Mr. Li served as a member of the Economic Committee of CPPCC. From March 2008, Mr. Li served as a member of the 11th Session of the CPPCC and Deputy Director of the Economic Committee of CPPCC. Mr. Li was elected as Independent Non-Executive Director of Sinopec Corp. in May 2006.
