Mr. Shi Wanpeng, 70, Independent Non-Executive Director of Sinopec Corp. Mr. Shi graduated from Northern Jiaotong University in August 1960. He is a professor-level senior engineer.  From January 1983, Mr. Shi served as a Deputy Director of the Transportation Bureau of the State Economic Commission. From January 1987, Mr. Shi served as the Director of the Economic and Technical Co-operation Bureau of the State Economic Commission. From May 1988, Mr. Shi acted as the Director of the Production and Dispatch Bureau of the State Planning Commission. From July 1991, Mr. Shi served as Deputy Secretary General of the Production Office of the State Council. From July 1992, Mr. Shi served as Deputy Director of the Economic and Trade Office of the State Council. From April 1993, Mr. Shi served as Vice Minister of the State Economic and Trade Commission. From July 1997, Mr. Shi acted as the Chairman (ministerial-level) of the China Textiles Association. From March 1998, Mr. Shi served as Vice Minister of the State Economic and Trade Commission. From January 2003, Mr. Shi served as Chairman of China Packaging Federation. From March 2003, Mr. Shi served as a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Tenth session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Deputy Director of the Economic Committee of CPPCC. Since April 2003, Mr. Shi served as Independent Non-executive Director of the Second Session of the Board of Directors of Sinopec Corp. Mr. Shi was elected as Independent Non-Executive Director of the Third Session of the Board of Directors of Sinopec Corp in May 2006.
